TEXT
The Centraal Museum of Utrecht is housed in an old medieval cloister. In 1999, the museum was renovated by the architect Stéphane Beel. A series of exhibition halls were organized around a central courtyard designed as a public park. A very minimal budget led to an elementary treatment of the garden. The essence of the project lay in the play between the free growing grasses and the closely cropped lawn. This minimal dialectic was sufficient for the installation of a piece of architecture on the small parcel of land.
