The Ireo Riverfront Hospitality Development will be developed in the estuary of the Mochemaad River, a protected natural setting situated to the north of Goa. Our approach is to work from a territorial scale, involving the conception of a strong and unitary landscape, a transposed nature evoking the local landscape, its spirit, and its physical coherence. In order to capture and recreate the unique character of the place, the Ireo Riverfront Hospitality Development will be located at the heart of the estuary in a quay-like arrangement, offering a new horizon line in this striking environment.
The site, by its size and its location, is an invitation to refer to the geographic scale. The forms to be planned here will be determined by the larger landscape. The components from nature—the estuary, the landscape that is hilly—are real and powerful props. It is possible to consider both a vast horizon line and the texture given to the composition. The goal is to attain the dimensions of nature: the game consists of playing with the reference of the geographical context arises from complete artifice. The ensemble derives from forms in nature that are not copied or brought back, but transposed and enhanced.
