A university hospital complex will be built on the site of the PSA factories in Saint-Ouen. The two buildings, separated by the railroad, will be linked by footbridges.
The development of the hospital requires a particular technical rigor. It is a question of creating a functional, flexible and durable medical structure. The project fits into the suburban context of the city and establishes a harmonious relationship between the neighborhood and the future building with monumental dimensions. The hospital landscape is articulated around the main components: an urban forest, a roof garden and patios decorated with trees.
Each of the building's facades is designed according to its function. The building's façade, which is open to the city, concentrates activities such as a kindergarten, a bakery and a restaurant. It also hosts public spaces: a small urban forest and a large access square linked to the Garibaldi metro entrance and to the lively part of the city. The urban forest, laid out on a large volume of open ground, adapts to the street and creates a continuity of green spaces in the neighborhood in connection with the Marmottan square.
Inside, eleven wooded patios illuminate the interior of the building. On the roof, a terrace is laid out as a garden accessible to the medical staff and certain patients, on which an orchard and a therapeutic garden composed of medicinal plants will be placed.
