The square has been restored to its original, simple, and cohesive design, highlighting the Casino and the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, both dating from the second half of the 19th century. A unified stone base is punctuated by twenty palm trees. These trees are fully removable: a system of liftable slabs allows them to be moved during major events. At the heart of this tranquil space, pedestrians can enjoy Anish Kapoor’s mirror, surrounded by a circular fountain, reflecting the elegant silhouette of the hotel. From the square, the Jardin des Boulingrins rises in successive terraces toward Avenue de la Costa, a sequence of plantings that revives the tradition of a region renowned for its exotic gardens. Further up, the garden offers a magnificent view of the new Place du Casino. Its design was conceived in tandem with that of the Jardin des Boulingrins to blend elegantly into the city’s monumental historical landscape.
