This former industrial site is transformed into a network of clear, coherent public spaces, characterised by a wide variety of ecological habitats. The Parc de la Molette and the road network that make up this new neighbourhood are densely planted and richly layered. By treating water, both as a landscaping tool and as a resource to be preserved, residents benefit from a living environment tailored to contemporary uses and climate challenges, whilst ensuring it is fully integrated into its surroundings. The Parc de la Molette with its naturalistic and sinuous layout, features open copses interspersed with large open spaces linked to integrated water management, such as wet meadows and a large lawn. The more functional and rectilinear framework applies to the road network that serves the new neighbourhood, emphasising the urban grid and connecting the site to its context. This dual landscape framework – naturalistic and functional – provides, at the local level, a link with the various surrounding urban spaces and, at the metropolitan level, a connecting element that complements the system of large parks and forests in the north of Seine-Saint-Denis. This structuring landscape framework also provides a clear framework for all future programmatic developments and forms part of the long-term process of urban transformation.
