On the occasion of a consolidation of various plots of land, the heart of the Maillol urban block will be redeveloped. The various backyard service areas once separated from one another and restricted, are today united and open to the public. Together, they constitute a crossing of the urban block within a protected section of the 7^th arrondissement of Paris. Located alongside the Aristide Maillol Museum, this new promenade allows for many of the artist's sculptures to be seen.

The use of sandstone cobblestones lends to the space its noble and urban character. Oak, plane, and birch trees are interspersed across the mineral surface. The technical constraints are decisive here. An underground parking lot strongly limits the supply of topsoil.

In the center, a row of planted “islands” composes a landscape giving off the appearance of a forest. This central element is characterized by a vegetation with an immediate presence. Nonetheless, no formal composition is imposed on the whole, which is traversed by a number of pathways, while gravel blurs the boundary between the mineral and vegetal ground areas. A subtle intervention on the topography directs runoff water towards the planted surfaces, which are provided with a gravel draining substratum.
