To provide residents with a new public space overlooking the ocean, our project draws inspiration from the site’s geography: rocky cliffs, beaches, and seawalls. Our proposal highlights and brings together two distinct landscape features. El Hank Park rests against the seawall, offering an urban space that overlooks the Atlantic, while Ain Diab Beach provides access to the ocean. An elevated promenade runs along the coast and connects these two areas. A comb-like structure widens this promenade. The orientation of its branches varies: at times they create a series of connections to Casablanca’s major thoroughfares, and at other times they extend toward the sea. These branches also serve to delineate flexible spaces provide the necessary conditions for lush vegetation. El Hank Park features tree-lined gardens and several amenities closely tied to its urban context. The gently sloping embankments allow for the easy integration of public and private facilities, as well as rows of steps, benches, and wide staircases. Ain Diab Beach stretches across several highly urban, paved plazas that branch out to form piers overlooking the beach. The piers retain and contain the sand, guiding the sedimentation process as it unfolds in order to shape the dunes in advance.
