In a southwestern suburb of Stockholm, an urban project will unfold across an area facing a thirty hectare park which is to be redeveloped for the occasion as well. Our proposal took into account the fact that the site runs up to and neighbors upon the Kvambacka forest, which from there continues on to a landscape continuum connecting the capital and its urban periphery to the vast landscape of the Swedish coast.
The project takes direct inspiration from the forms of archipelagos in the way it orders and organizes the progression from dense urban neighborhood to naturalistic forest. The park, with the mineral platform of port-like dimensions that surrounds it, will include a number of public services and facilities.
Through the necessities of understanding the landscape and its logic, and possessing a sense as to how the mechanisms at work will function together, our proposals here aim at providing contemporary landscapes with a geographical anchorage for the neighborhoods that will develop within them.
