Our redesign transforms the Port Viguerie marina into a space that unites the historic marinas along the right bank of the Garonne River with the architectural heritage of the Saint-Cyprien neighborhood. The retaining wall is completely restored using traditional Toulouse hand-molded bricks known as “foraine” bricks (or “brique foraine” in French). A newly constructed footbridge offers a breathtaking view over the right bank of the river. The semicircular plaza along the water is planted with new trees and redesigned to accommodate both cultural events and recreational activities. Additional mooring bollards are installed, increasing docking capacity for boats and other watercraft. Along the Saint-Cyprien side of the project site, an unauthorized parking area is transformed into a play area for teenagers complete with new seating, creating a neighborhood community space.
