TEXT

A rectilinear bridge, taking advantage of a bend in the Arno, crosses the river twice. The minimal gesture highlights the principal direction of the valley, while multiplying the links between the banks, connecting two roads previously separated, and flanking in protection a town.

Beyond its primary function, the setting up of this infrastructure provides the opportunity of bringing into relief the wooded landscape of the banks and of the traditional agriculture of the area through the creation of a public park. This landscape project is a small step forward in a broader strategy aiming at the gradual development of the Arno's banks, conducted by the Provence of Florence.

The park is organized around two themes: providing greater accessibility to the landscape and on the discovery and exploration of the local agriculture. To make this happen, the project reinterprets the region's rich agricultural structure, its aesthetics and its specific management procedures. The aim is not merely to create an accessible setting, but a place of production, of activities and exchanges.

In making use of rudimentary agricultural practices, the agricultural park immediately takes on sense and coherence, as well as a familiar and playful architectural quality. The acquired result is instantly one of a space physically understandable and approachable.
