While working on the official landscape guidelines for the city of Bordeaux, we also played a part in the drawing up of a master plan, including a more specific development plan for the banks of the Garonne River. Case studies provided us with the measurements of the city's various components, and therefore with an idea of their possible transformations. The aesthetic our work produced was designed to spread out to match the territory's larger scale. We aimed at the creation of vast geographical continuities that would run alongside the river, replacing the large infrastructure complexes, insinuating themselves into the adjacent surroundings just like the old water routes. The dimensions necessary for the creation of this landscape were taken as the basis for adjusting the rules of constructability (in the formulation of the local or communal urbanism plan, or PLU in France).
